ASCI Attends the African American Strategic Partnership Conference
ASCI had the opportunity to attend this year’s African American Strategic Partnership (AASP) Conference, a professional development event focused on employee wellness, sustainable leadership, workplace culture, and organizational effectiveness.
The conference brought together leaders and professionals for meaningful conversations about how organizations can better support their employees while continuing to strengthen their missions.

A few key takeaways from the sessions included:
- Wellness is more than benefits. Building a culture of wellness requires trust, communication, psychological safety, and leadership that encourages employees to use the resources available to them.
- Sustainable leadership matters. Leaders should regularly check in with high-performing employees and recognize the signs of burnout before employees reach a point of depletion.
- Emotional intelligence is essential. Being aware of our emotions and learning to respond intentionally can strengthen communication, relationships, and decision-making.
- Employees should have a voice in wellness. Understanding what employees actually need can help organizations create more meaningful and effective wellness initiatives.
The conversations throughout the conference offered valuable reminders about the importance of caring for the people behind the mission.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and bring these insights back to our work at ASCI.
