Kin Is You. Kin Is Me. Kin Is We: Celebrating Those Who Care

March is Social Work and Human Services Professionals Month. It is a time to recognize the individuals who dedicate their lives to supporting children, families, and communities. At A Second Chance, Inc. (ASCI), social work is a calling rooted in compassion, support, and connection.

Our guiding message continues to remind us of something powerful: Kin is you. Kin is me. Kin is we.

Kinship is about relationships, community, and the belief that no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Social workers and human services professionals live out this principle every day. They stand beside families, uplift caregivers, and work tirelessly to ensure that children have the stability, love, and support they deserve.

Kin is you.
It is the social worker or human services professional who listens with empathy, supports with courage, and shows up even on the most challenging days.

Kin is me.
It is every staff member, caregiver, and supporter who believes that families deserve opportunity, dignity, and hope.

Kin is we.
It is the collective effort of a community committed to strengthening families and creating pathways for children to thrive.

During Social Work Month, we celebrate the heart, dedication, and resilience of social workers and human services professionals. Their work often happens quietly through conversations, guidance, and moments of support that change the course of someone’s life.

At ASCI, we are proud to stand alongside those who make this work possible. Together, we continue building stronger families, stronger communities, and brighter futures.

Because when we recognize that kin is you, kin is me, kin is we, we remember that supporting one another is at the heart of everything we do.
