Karen McGrail serves as the Senior Managing Director of Human Relations at A Second Chance, Inc., where she provides executive leadership for the strategic direction, governance, and operational oversight of Human Relations, Communications, and Training. In this role, Karen ensures workforce excellence, regulatory compliance, leadership development, and organizational stability while aligning people strategy with the agency’s mission, growth, and performance goals.
With more than 25 years of experience as a true HR generalist across multiple industries—primarily within healthcare-related organizations—Karen brings comprehensive expertise in talent strategy, employee relations, internal communications, benefit strategies, employment law compliance, and policy development. She is also deeply committed to fostering strong company cultures and advancing organizational learning through robust training programs.
Karen prides herself on quickly establishing trusting relationships and effectively managing the complex demands of matrixed organizations. Acting as a trusted advisor, she balances business needs with human realities to drive sustainable success. Her career is marked by significant accomplishments in shaping HR strategies that support both organizational performance and employee engagement.
Karen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership, equipping her with the knowledge and vision to lead transformative human relations initiatives.
