A Second Chance, Inc. (ASCI) is a non-profit corporation established in 1994. Its mission is to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment to children who are being cared for by their relatives or a close family friend - formally called "kinship care". ASCI became a subcontracting agency of Allegheny County Children and Youth Services (now called Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families [CYF]) in July, 1994.

   Willette Walker is serving as the agency’s Sr. Director III of Organizational Development and Transportation Service. Willette is an innovative Sr. Director with demonstrated success in analysing systems and devising continuous process improvement strategies to streamline operations in order to meet agency growing needs with existing resources..

   MS. Walker has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Wilberforce University, a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University and a Master’s in the Art of Teaching, Social Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. She also earned a Professional in Human Resources Certification. After teaching high school for nearly eight years, Ms. Walker returned to A Second Chance, Inc. in the fall 2011 to serve in her current capacity. She has been Instrumental in the formation of cross-departmental teams to address agency-wide opportunities. It is important to note, Ms. Walker previously worked at A Second Chance, Inc. from 1996 to 2003 where she progressed up the leadership ladder from caseworker to Director of Employee Relations.

   Ms. Walker’s other accomplishments include Sigma Omega Honor Society (1991), Who’s Who Among American College Students (1991, 1992), Homer S. Brown Legal Scholarship Recipient (1992), University of Pittsburgh, Human Services Executive Academy Graduate (2000), A Second Chance Charitable Foundation, Former Board Member 2010-2011 and Chrysalis Project Panellist (2013).
