A Second Chance, Inc. (ASCI) is a non-profit corporation established in 1994. Its mission is to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment to children who are being cared for by their relatives or a close family friend - formally called "kinship care". ASCI became a subcontracting agency of Allegheny County Children and Youth Services (now called Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families [CYF]) in July, 1994.

   Ella Jones joined A Second Chance, Inc. in 2013 as a Consultant before becoming a full-time employee in 2014. She currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Vice President of CFS and Systems Engagements. In this role, she provides assistance with both the program office, as well the national expansion work. Other responsibilities include supervision of an administrative support person, as well as special projects and serving on the committees for the Annual Holiday Toy Drive and “A Dance for Life.”

   Ella attended Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi majoring in Sociology with a minor in Economics. Prior to coming to A Second Chance, Inc., Ella has worked for both non-profit and for-profit organizations in various administrative capacities.Some of Ella’s achievements include grant awards for Local Government communities and successfully securing 501(c)(3) status for several organizations.
