A Second Chance, Inc. (ASCI) is a non-profit corporation established in 1994. Its mission is to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment to children who are being cared for by their relatives or a close family friend - formally called "kinship care". ASCI became a subcontracting agency of Allegheny County Children and Youth Services (now called Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families [CYF]) in July, 1994.

   Bonita Flanagan is currently in the position as the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Child and Family Services. She also serves in this capacity to assist with the day to day responsibilities to the Vice President and the Directors of Child and Family Services. 

   She joined A Second Chance Inc. in December 1995. Serving in various capacities such as; Support Secretary, Administrative Assistant to the Senior Director of Compliance and Data Analysis, one of the Support Department Supervisors, Second Gourmet Committee member, Annual Toy Drive Committee member and Dance for Life Committee member.  She is also a graduated of the Mark A. Cleveland Academy for Emerging Leaders.

   She is proud and honored to be an employee of A Second Chance, Inc. for 20 years and is extremely committed to the organization’s mission to strengthen and preserve healthy kinship families for children.
