Alexandria J. Thomas, MSS, LSW is currently the Director II of Permanency and Community Engagement at A Second Chance INC Philadelphia . This department oversees the recruitment of resource parents; aids in the partnership of local community organizations; oversees the transportation and training departments; and provided leadership to the permanency program.
Ms. Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Rosemont College and a master’s degree in Social Science with a concentration in Clinical Social Worker from Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, both located in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania. She is also a licensed social worker in the state of Pennsylvania. Ms. Thomas has been dedicated to working in the child welfare system for over 10 years and has experience with youth and families in residential treatment facilitates, group homes, alternatives schools and children in general and medical level foster care.
Ms. Thomas has been working at A Second Chance Inc. since 2012, first starting as a supervisor and then being promoted to a director one year later. She is dedicated to the mission and vision of A Second Chance Inc. and continues to diligently work toward ending cycles of abuse, neglect and poverty.
