A Second Chance, Inc. (ASCI) is a non-profit corporation established in 1994. Its mission is to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment to children who are being cared for by their relatives or a close family friend - formally called "kinship care". ASCI became a subcontracting agency of Allegheny County Children and Youth Services (now called Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families [CYF]) in July, 1994.

    Ahmad Kamara is the FGDM Director at A Second Chance, Inc. with a master’s degree in Educational Counseling and a BA in Psychology from Wilmington University. Ahmad has worked with FGDM since 2009. Prior to working at ASCI, Ahmad had several years of experience working in mental/behavioral health services in schools, homes and community, drug and alcohol counseling services in both outpatient and inpatient facilities.
